Three Questions to Help you Vet an Executive Coach, Therapist, or Career Counselor

  1. What outcomes do you hope to achieve?
    Can this person help you achieve these outcomes? How do they do it? (You must be able to first clearly articulate your challenges and the outcomes you would like to achieve).
  2. What specifically do you need them to know? 
    What is their subject matter expertise? What do you want to know after working with them? How do they frame problems? How do they resolve them? 
  3. How do you want to feel when you are working with them? How do you feel when you are interacting with them? Calm, safe, inspired, confident, motivated, trusting, smarter, stronger, understood, supported...
